Alexandre Bacque (1968 - 2017) was the lead scientist of Abstergo Industries facility in Ontario and a member of the Inner Sanctum of the Templar Order.

He was also a high ranking member of Angelica Concord's Project Omega. In 2017, he abducted Horatio Pierce and forced him to relive the genetic memories of his ancestor Kurosawa no Rōnin to locate a Source of Eden.

Biography[]

Early life[]

As a young man, Bacque was an aspiring and highly-motivated individual. Wanting to make his mark in the world through achieving great scientific advancements.

As a result of this, upon graduating college in the United States Bacque applied for a job at Abstergo Industries. Upon being accepted, Bacque was assigned to work for Warren Vidic and his Animus Project in 1991.

Joining the Templars[]

At some point, Bacque discovered the existence of the Assassins and Templars. Alan Rikkin considered terminating him as a way of silence but Vidic convinced Bacque that he was an asset to the cause and his scientific mind was too much to lose.

Bacque was indoctrinated into the Templar Order and at some point he was assigned as the head of an Abstergo facility in Ontario.

Project Omega[]

In the 2000s, Bacque was handpicked by Project Omega's head Angelica Concord handpicked Bacque to be a lead scientist in the project.

Horatio Pierce[]

In 2017, Bacque discovered an Abstergo Entertainment intern by the name of Horatio Pierce was descended from a bloodline rich with Assassin ancestors and was also the son of wanted Assassin Arnold Pierce. Bacque ordered Sigma Team to apprehend Pierce and deliver him to the Abstergo facility in Ontario.

Bacque met the young Pierce and revealed to him of the existence of the Assassins and Templars and that Horatio's father had discovered a precursor artifact that had the potential to change the tide of Assassin-Templar War through clues they had intercepted from Arnold. Although, due to the Pierce bloodline containing high counts of Isu genes it was nigh impossible for a normal person to relive the genetic memories of their ancestors.

One of the clues left behind by Arnold Pierce were the years 1090 and 1768. Bacque forced Horatio Pierce to relive the genetic memories of the Assassin Kurosowa no Rōnin who was active during 1090.

A month later, Bacque discovered the existence of the Sources of Eden. After discovering Kurosawa's memories were a dead end and that he had destroyed a Source of Eden, Bacque planned on making Pierce relive the memories of the Assassin Kenneth Fletcher in 1768, although Pierce escaped with another Assassin by the name of Hayley Yasutake. Although, during the escape, Horatio had left behind a blood sample.

Hunt for Pierce[]

After decoding Pierce's DNA and uploads his memories to Abstergo's cloud server. Alexandre employs several Abstergo employees to test if they have a high count of Isu genes so they can relive the memories of Horatio's ancestors with no problems. Bacque discovers that a member of Sigma Team Kyle North has a high enough count allowing him to relive the memories of Kenneth Ravensdale, because of this North is indoctrinated into the Templar's Inner Sanctum and assigned to explore Horatio's genetic memories as well as hunt him and Hayley Yasutake down.

Abstergo had tracked Pierce and Yasutake hiding out in Minnesota and deployed Kyle North and his squad to apprehend them, although the mission was a failure.

Death[]

In December 2017, Alexandre would believe that luck had found him when the Assassins Horatio Pierce and Hayley Yasutake voluntarily arrived at the Abstergo facility. He ordered the Abstergo agents to apprehend them although Horatio and Hayley cleared through them, Horatio would also go on to gravely injure Kyle North which would enrage Bacque even more.

Horatio entered his office, an angered Bacque went on to rant that the Templars want the same thing as the Assassins but Horatio stated that robbing humanity of their freewill is no life to live. With these words, Bacque pulled out a silencer and attempted to shoot Horatio but he managed to avoid the shot and charged his way to Bacque, jumping on his desk and air assassinating him.

Personality and characteristics[]

Bacque is a borderline sociopath due to the fact that had charm and a high charisma but he did not care about other people, not even his own Templar brethren. He thinks mainly of himself, he has a complete disregard for rules and lies constantly, he seldom feels guilt or learns from punishments. A textbook sociopath.

Despite his sociopathic tendencies, Bacque firmly believes in the Templar cause. Not because he cares for humankind but because he believes humanity should be controlled due to their chaotic nature, like Haytham Kenway, Bacque repeatedly mentions that humans were built to serve.
