The Crest of the House of Dorian

Over the course of the family’s existence, the Dorian Family and its members have been the subject of many rumors and conspiracy theories.

Family Conspiracy Theories[]

Many people have believed that the Dorians never really sympathized with the core values of the Creed, with many people pointing out the likes of Arno, Elise, and Alana being the people associated with this theory.

There have been theories about the women in the family, such as Alana and Isabelle, being labeled as ‘sex pests’ due to their known high sex drives and portraits of them with little clothing on.

Many people have speculated that the decades-long feud between both the House of Dorian and the House of Williams is staged and that there is no animosity between the two families.

Defective Sage Theory[]

At the time of the July 1903 incident, Alana and Xavier had come across the same two women that looked strikingly like Maria, both of which were killed/mortally wounded by Xavier Baudin himself. In future Abstergo research, it was theorized that those two women were likely defective Sages made out of Maria’s consciousness which was accidentally uploaded in Yggdrasil many years prior. Abstergo’s strongest evidence with this theory, other than the women’s physical attributes, were the ages of the women, who were both roughly 27 at the time; the exact number of years since Maria’s passing in 1876.

The women however, possessed little-to-no Isu genes. Though this is likely due to Maria being mostly mortal and not an direct Isu-descent, the theory potentially confirms that the uploaded consciousness significantly dilutes the Isu genes. The women are eventually classified as “The Trial Sages” but no further research was conducted about the topic until Isabelle Allard came along.

Elise serre

It is believed that Elise never defected to the Assassins, and continued on life as a Templar Spy.

Isabelle Allard, who was collectively assumed to be Maria’s first “complete” Sage due to studies on various bodily fluids and bone marrow, claimed that she inherited a portion of Maria’s memories and had experienced visions where she communicated with her. Though after surpassing the age of 33, Isabelle began to gradually forget said memories and visions. Further into the future, Isabelle became inconsistent with her statements which led to a distrust among the younger generation of Assassins and the modern Williams descendants, who accused her of using Maria’s name to gain fame through controversy. In connection, some had also refused to believe that Maria’s consciousness could’ve been uploaded into Yggdrasil, stating that either Alana and Maria never went to Norway at all to investigate or Yggdrasil doesn’t really exist.

Conspiracy Theories about Individual Family Members[]

Arno Dorian[]

Much like his wife, there were some Assassins who believed Arno secretly defected to the Templars due to the poor treatment from the Assassin Council, and stayed with the Assassins to poison them from within. This theory is completely unverified.

Elise de la Serre[]

There have been theories floating around that Elise never defected to the Assassins and that she was a Templar mole.

Francois Charles Dorian[]

Juliette Marie Dorian[]

Alana Rose Dorian[]

It has been speculated that Imogen Carmichael and her family were exiled at her request because Alana became very jealous of Imogen and saw her as a threat to her friendship with Maria Williams, as well as her post as a Master Assassin and eventually Mentor.

People believe that Alana Rose Dorian personally executed Maria Williams in 1876, with help from the German Templars, her reasoning being that Maria was a threat to the British Brotherhood, and Alana burned down the house to cover her tracks. Theorists who believe in this cite Alana and Maria's drastically broken friendship. This one has been proven to be false as there are very accurate depictions from both families about the Bremen Incident of 1876.

Photos of Alana such as this one from 1869 have convinced people to believe Alana took up prostitution after her husband's death in 1868, even though she was fiercely against prostitution.

It is widely speculated that Maria and Alana’s trip to Norway never happened and that it was a made-up story in order to present Alana as a successful heir as Mentor to her mother Juliette and the eyes of the council. This one again has been proven false as there is documented proof that Alana and Maria visited Yggdrasil in the year 1870.

With the revelation of many photos released of Alana showing skin or very scantily clad were released, many conspiracy theorists claimed that Alana turned to prostitution after her husband Albert's passing and that the photos of Alana in her underwear were a way of 'showing off her body' to possible clients as an act of disparity, which is how two risque photos of her ended up in the hands of Ottoman Sultan Abdulaziz. Her descendant, Mariana O'Rourke, harshly refutes the theory and cites it as 'bogus' and 'frankly disgusting.' Mariana would later state that Alana was adamantly against prostitution due to her status as a married woman and that there were records within the Dorian Family Archives that the reason why Alana posed with little clothing on was that Alana viewed her body as an art form and she wanted to express herself and show off the scars on her body in a time where women were limited with what they could do with their bodies, and that the photos were taken in a Curio Shop that was in Whitechapel a year after the Liberation of London. Mariana has maintained what she has said over the years, saying that she is 'sick and tired of people making up baseless conspiracy theories about my great-great grandmother's body.'

People have also speculated that Alana's body upon her death in 1940 was placed in the Dorian Family Archive to protect it from those who wanted to study Alana's genetic makeup, and replaced with the body of a woman who looked similar to Alana in appearance. This was later proven to be true as Alana's remarkably preserved body has been resting inside the family archives in a glass coffin as of November 2023. Those who have seen Alana's body were blown away by its appearance. Despite dying at the age of one hundred, Alana's body looked as if it was how it looked when Alana was in her late twenties to her mid-thirties, aside from the injuries to her chest, shoulder, and knee.

It has been widely speculated that the Dorian Family are waiting to resurrect Alana's body with the proper technology, but this has been feverishly denied by the family.

Contrary to popular belief, it was widely speculated that Alana remarried after Albert's death. People claimed that Alana married Jacob Frye in June of 1870 behind closed doors, away from the eyes of fellow Assassins. People say that despite speaking negatively about Jacob publicly, she would be very seductive and act promiscuous around him, basing their beliefs on Alana's high sex drive. Believers of this theory say that she had two sons with Jacob, named Emmett in 1871 and Gareth in 1874. People say that Alana and Jacob made up the name 'Henry Walsh' to cover up Jacob being complicit in impregnating Alana. According to this theory, Lydia Frye would be Alana's granddaughter, making the Dorians and Fryes related. Both families feverishly deny the possible marriage.

Isabelle Allard[]

Isabelle Miranda Allard has been the center of multiple conspiracy theories throughout her life.

Many Assassins believe that Isabelle was in on a deal with the Templars to let Martina join their ranks and abuse members of Isabelle’s Assassin Cell as a way to make her cell look like underdogs. Another conspiracy theory similar to this is that Isabelle knew that the car crash involving Irina O’Reilly and her husband Sebastian was going to happen and failed to do anything about it.

There is a conspiracy theory about Isabelle’s women’s rights protest in 1964, with people believing that Isabelle’s protest was not a protest about women’s rights and that Isabelle’s true intention was to start a cult that would allow more freedoms for women when the cult eventually overthrew the French government.

There are multiple conspiracy theories surrounding Isabelle and her sex life. Many people believe that all of Isabelle’s scars on her body in her 1966 Heart of the Eagle Magazine were edited onto her body as a way to get people to feel sorry for her. Martina Laurent mainly proposed this theory. Isabelle has debunked this theory, stating that the photos showing her scars showed off her resilience and even physically pointed out all of the scars on her body herself.

For her life, many men have come forward to say that they have had sex with Isabelle throughout her adult life. Over thirty men have come forward saying they had sex with Isabelle between the years of 1941 and 1952. Isabelle has denied the claims of the men, stating that she would most certainly remember if she had sex with them, and stated that the only people she ever had sex with were her ex-husband Xavier Andreu and her second husband Edouard Docieux and that the men made factless claims just to get attention.

Many people believe that the assassination attempt on Isabelle was covered up by the French and American governments due to Isabelle’s beliefs surrounding the Vietnam War.

It has been believed by many that if Isabelle was killed, it was believed that after the CIA was given Isabelle’s body, her skull was to be given to the Skull and Bones Society, and her body burned at Bohemian Grove. This has been refuted due to the release of Alhegeri’s journal after he died in 1995. People also believe that a slice of Isabelle’s brain was gifted by Abstergo Industries to the Skull and Bones Society. It sits in a jar of formaldehyde within the Tomb on the campus of Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. This is seemingly true as two slices of Isabelle’s brain were reported missing after recovering it from Operation Atletico. Martina Laurent had one slice and the other slice is unknown.

Many Assassins believe that Isabelle allegedly killed Assassins who did not agree with her core beliefs. It is believed that Isabelle had forty conservative Assassins poisoned or executed behind closed doors shortly after becoming Mentor due to them not believing in Isabelle’s cause and that Isabelle used her petite figure to make people not believe that a small woman like her could commit such killings. This conspiracy theory is often called the Andreu/Allard Body Count, and conservatives mainly believe this theory. Henri Alhegeri, the man who attempted to kill Isabelle in 1965, is a known believer in this theory. He intended for her to be the ‘last body in her body count.’

Isabelle Body Double Theory[]

People believe in a conspiracy theory about Isabelle that states she has never been seen in public since 1945 due to crippling anxiety, and that she used other women as stand-ins to gain accolades for herself. In events such as her rising in the ranks of the military and ascension to the rank of Mentor, the 1964 women’s rights protest, the attempted assassination in August 1965, and her 46th birthday editorial in Heart of the Eagle Magazine, people claim that Isabelle uses lookalikes because Isabelle looks different in all of them. People point to Isabelle’s facial features, hair color, and her breast size and nipple colors. Aside from physical features, some have said that isabelle was outgoing and friendly and not strict and demanding in public. People say that each Isabelle had a different mood and attribute it to her fear of people. This came from people who have actually met her. Margaux, Isabelle’s daughter, fiercely attacked this theory saying that her mother did change her look and personality through the years on her own accord and that she was the same person, and that Isabelle used different women for her own gain was ‘outlandish bullshit’ and that trying to prove their point using Isabelle’s breasts was ‘childish and obscene’.

People also believe that Isabelle has a macabre ‘finger collection’ of all the ring fingers she has chopped off in order to maintain the guise.

Photos of Isabelle that some claim are her 'body doubles'.

Margaux Allard[]

People believe that Margaux was never born and that Isabelle Allard is still alive, and that she found an ability to reverse age herself, and took the name Margaux as a way to hide from the public and live forever.
