Gina Garcia (born 1998) is a Master Assassin of the American Brotherhood of Assassins. She leads her own Assassin cell comprising of her twin brother Roberto Garcia and Samantha Maguire. Gina is also a descendant of the French-born Spanish Assassin Ramona Lucia.

Gina and her cell were tasked with locating and retrieving Jin Chen in 2022, after information was leaked revealing his genetic connection to an Assassin of interest. As well as this, Gina was ordered to find out what it is Abstergo and another shadow group are looking for in Chen's genetic memories.

Through Arthur Kavanagh's memories, Gina and the Assassins learned of the existence of the Armor of Ares - a Piece of Eden capable of memory manipulation on a global scale.

Biography[]

Early life[]

Gina was born 11 minutes before her twin brother, Roberto, in an Assassin compound in Santo Domingo, 1998. However, Gina and her family were forced to flee to the Texas, United States during the Great Purge in December 2000, shortly after her 2nd birthday. Following the Great Purge, the Garcias were forced into hiding posing as a normal family.

As a result, Gina and Robbie had a relatively normal life growing up, they attended school, hung out with friends and more. However, they were also rigorously trained by their parents in their spare time - however, they were still unaware of their Assassin heritage with their parents deeming it safer that they did not know until they were old enough.

In early 2014, at the age of 15 Gina was woken up to her home under attack by Abstergo fireteam. Abstergo had come to abduct either Gina, Robbie or their father due to their biological connection to the Spanish-French Assassin Ramona Lucia. Gina utilised the skills she had learned from her parents to fight against her potential captors but she and her brother were ordered to flee by the parents. Before escaping, Gina was informed by her mother to locate Gavin Banks at a location they specified.

Much to the dismay of her brother, Gina was able to convince Robbie that they needed to escape. The two were able to make their escape, killing some Abstergo agents along the way. After reaching a fair distance away from their home, Gina and Robbie would witness their house erupt in flames from an explosion initiated by their parents so that Abstergo would be unable to extract any genetic samples from them.

Some days later, Gina and Robbie managed to locate Gavin Banks and they revealed to him who they were, their parents and what had transpired, still confused at the entire situation. Banks eventually took them in, aboard the Altaïr II he would then reveal to them of their Assassin heritage and what their parents died for, explaining to the twins of the Assassins, Templars, their conflict and what each group stood for. After explaining this to them, aware of how dangerous their life would be now that Abstergo is aware of their existence, Banks offers them a place within the Assassins and aboard the Altaïr II. Wanting to honor their parents, and avenge their deaths, the twins accept Gavin's offer.

The twins' training would continue for the next few years. Gina eventually attained the rank of Master Assassin and fell under command of her own Assassin cell, comprising of her brother and Sam Maguire.

Search for Jin Chen[]

In 2022, the Assassins had been hounded by another secret organisation that had been going on for a year. William Miles tasked Gina and her cell with gathering more information on this group. During their investigation, the Assassins also learned that the Templars were also being attacked by this mysterious group.

In June Leah Chavez, a disillusioned Templar, leaked information to the Assassins that Abstergo had tracked down an Assassin descendant by the name of Jin Chen who's ancestor has a link to finding the answers they need. Sam was able to track Chen down to a police precinct in Philadelphia and the Assassins quickly made their way to him. Arriving at the precinct, they saw that Abstergo and the other group had already arrived.

Rushing in, Gina and Robbie intercepted two Abstergo agents that were escorting Chen out of the precinct and swiftly assassinated them. Grabbing Chen, they shoved him in the van they arrived in and quickly sped off into the night. Chen immediately attacks Gina but Robbie swiftly apprehends him. Once Jin is calm, Robbie releases him and the two introduce themselves, revealing themselves to be Assassins.

Gina and Robbie explain to Chen the situation and why they were looking for him. Jin deduces that they need him to relive the memories of his ancestor to figure out what it is he's wanted for. He agreed to relive his ancestor's memories, knowing that this is the safest option for him.

Some time later, the Assassins arrive at a hideout in Jersey City and introduce Jin to Samantha before immediately getting to work.

Arthur Kavanagh's memories[]

Jin explores the genetic memories of his Irish Assassin ancestor which Gina and the others closely monitor his progress. During Jin's first animus session the group uncover the existence of the Preservers of Humanity. Following the conclusion of this first session, Jin and Robbie enter an altercation which Gina is forced to stop - reminding them what they were her for and to act like adults or else.

The next day, Gina oversees Jin's next animus session. During this they learn of the Preservers goals to rid the world of the Assassins and Templars, as well as this they also discover the existence of the Armor of Ares.

Re-encounter with the Preservers[]

Gina informs the group that their next priority is locating the Armor through Jin's genetic memories. However, before they can do this they are discovered by the Preservers who attacked Jin in Philadelphia.

Gina orders Jin and Sam to pack and get in the van as fast as they can while they deal with whoever's in the car. Gina and Robbie go on to meet the intruders, revealing themselves to be none other than the man and woman who attacked Jin. They introduce themselves simply as Maria and Frederic, feigning friendliness they "kindly" ask for the Assassins to hand over Jin. Robbie refuses cursing them out, Gina asks how they even found them and Maria reveals that they put a tracker on Jin when Abstergo grabbed him.

Robbie's impulsiveness gets the better of him and he immediately charges toward the two Preservers, however Maria shoots him in the shoulder calling it a warning shot. In her earpierce, Sam notifes Gina that all the essentials are loaded up. With that, Gina deploys a smoke bomb knowing that they are outmatched she helps Robbie and leads him to the van. As they enter the van, Gina searches for a tracker on Jin before throwing it out as Sam speedily drives off. As they flee, Gina begins patching up Robbie. Panicked, Sam reveals that the Preservers are following and are hot on their tail.

The Preservers begin open firing on the Assassins' van but Sam is driving in such an erratic and unpredictable way where the Preservers are having difficulty shooting their tires. Robbie curses himself for letting himself get shot by the Preservers. Jin offers to drive instead of Sam, having drove a frew getaway cars in his past. Agreeing, Sam hands over the wheel to Jin and Gina comes up with an idea on her own. She tells Sam to continue tending to Robbie while she gets in the passenger seat next to Jin. Pulling out a magnum from the dashboard, she tells Jin to do what he can to get them out of harm's way.

Rolling down her windows, Gina begins shooting at the Preservers and engages in a temporary firefight with Maria. Eventually, Gina manages to shoot and crack the window to the Preservers' car, obscuring their vision and causing them to veer off the road. Following this, Jin accelerates the van and drives them to their escape.

Jin celebrates their escape before being reminded by an annoyed Robbie that he's been shot. Still icy with Robbie, Jin tells him that he'll walk it off with Gina agreeing, revealing he will survive his injury. Sam adds on that he won't be able to return to the field for a while though because of his shoulder, wrapping it up in a sling. Robbie tries to argue with Sam but Gina uses her authority as the elder sister and leader, telling him the decision is final.

With that out of the way, Jin asks where they're going to next now that they're hideout was snuffed out. Gina notifies them that the closest city is New York and that they'll have to regroup there.

Search for the Armor of Ares[]

Not long passes before the group reach a hotel in Queens and proceed to set up in their motel room. Gina then goes on to announce her new plan, that they will continue the search for the Armor of Eden through Arthur's memories and also train Jin. Everyone is surprised at this but Gina reminds everyone that Robbie is currently benched due to his injury and having 2 field agents is better than one.

Following this, Jin re-enters the Animus in order to begin his search for the Armor of Ares. However, due to the nature of genetic memory, he is forced to relive the memories of Arthur's son Lonan Kavanagh. Remaining optimistic, Gina assures everyone that Lonan was with Arthur in Japan, and judging from the conversation that they witnessed between the two, it can be assumed that Lonan will continue Arthur's mission after the latters death in 1615. Following this, Jin continues searching through Lonan's memories.

During Jin's Animus session, Gina and the rest of the team witness Lonan being framed for the murder of his father and the Japanese Mentor through the feed. Gina conveys her shock at the way Arthur died, hoping he would have gone out in better circumstances. Robbie desires for Lonan to kill Ichiro and avenge his dad but Sam interjects that he has all the Assassins after him now, not liking where this story will go. On that note, it is now night time and Gina puts a pin on their Animus session for the day.

The next day, Gina decides to test out what skills Jin has acquired from Lonan's memories. Gina instructs him to follow her as they freerun through Queens, the buildings are short and thus lack danger in case Jin falls. She is impressed by Jin's rate of adaptability, complimenting him on how it looked as if he'd known to freerun his whole life, Jin jokes that it's in his blood. Jin mentions how he used to be afraid of heights, but after performing a variety of Leaps of Faith and the vivid-like nature of the Animus, it has helped him conquer his fear.

Gina goes on to tell Jin that in a day's time, they will test his hand to hand capabilities. On that note, they return to the motel and Jin returns to Lonan's memories. Following the conclusion of another portion of Lonan's memories, the group are shocked to find out that Lonan joined the Templar Order. Saddened that Lonan was so desperate that he had to turn to the Templars. However, Jin defends Lonan. Despite this though, he asks to be returned to Lonan's memories which Sam obliges.

Jin completes another portion of Lonan's memories and exits the Animus. He is still willing to continue but Gina orders against it, telling him how dangerous it is. Gina then goes on to end the session for the day, with it already being nightfall.

The following day, the Assassins discover that Lonan retrieved the Sword and Shield from Ares' armor during his time in Japan, handing it over to the Templars. Knowing that the Templars no longer have it in their possession today, Gina knows that there is more to the story. During this time, Robbie heads out into the city to gather more supplies. Meanwhile, Jin is suddenly forced into the perspective of another ancestor by 1620, Lonan's illegitimate son. Jin is angered by this set back but Gina assures Jin that they are still making progress, and are way more ahead than Abstergo and the Preservers seeing as they don't have access to Jin's DNA.

Jin asks where Robbie is Sam tells him that Robbie left to get supplies a few hours prior with Gina adding that he should be back by now. However, a few more hours go by and it is now nightfall, there is still no sign of Robbie and everyone is beginning to grow concerned. Sam then sees that she has received a message from Zhao Baozhai a high ranking member of Abstergo Industries, that Robbie has been taken by Abstergo agents and is currently en route to an Abstergo Foundation facility located in China. Zhao states that in order for them to return Robbie to safety, Jin would need to willingly surrender himself to Abstergo so they can study the memories of the Kavanagh family.

Rescuing Robbie[]

Gina immediately begins getting to work on retrieving Robbie. She makes a call to William Miles and shares the contents of the video message with him. Miles acknowledges what he has been told and arranges for funds to be transferred to them so that they may board a flight to Beijing.

The group then begin hastily packing, Jin and Sam can see Gina is worried but she is making an effort to appear calm. Sam's guilt gets the better of her and she confesses that Robbie's capture must have been her fault, explaining that she spent the last few nights sneaking out to observe her family in Forest Hills. This is where Gina snaps, getting in Sam's face she curses her out and calls her irresponsible and stupid, threatening to never forgive her if anything happens to Robbie.

Jin steps in between them and urges for the two to stop, admitting that what Sam did was stupid and that he should have said something sooner. Gina then turns her fury on to him, raging at him for letting Sam do what she did. However, Jin cuts her off and tells her there is no time to point fingers and the main priority right now is figuring out a plan to save Robbie.

Gina relents, calming down and agrees. She apologises to Sam, lamenting that he is the only family she has left. Jin sympathises and assures her that they will get him back. That same day, Jin and the Assassins board a flight to Beijing. The group begin formulating plans to rescue Robbie but none of them are sustainable, this is when Jin ultimately decides that Robbie's best chance at release is if he actually gives himself up.

Gina and Sam argue against this but Jin states they have no other choice, that they will use the time they have to continue training Jin so that he is able to escape Abstergo once the trade has been complete. Wary of this plan of action, Gina reluctantly accepts much to the dismay of Sam but Jin states that Robbie's kidnapping is partly his fault and this is his chance to rectify it. Gina thanks Jin for doing this for her brother, hugging him.

Arriving in China 13 hours later, the Assassins rent a motel and remain there as they prepare to make the trade. However, an anxious Jin requests to enter the Animus and search into the memories of Lonan's son, to see if he can aid the Assassins a little more in locating the Armor of Ares before being forced to do so by Abstergo. Gina grants Jin this request and asks Sam to set up an Animus session.

The next day, following his Animus session, Gina spars with Jin to see what he had learned exploring Hayato's memories. He demonstrates his skills remarkably - blending in what he has learned from both Lonan and Hayato. During their sparring match, Gina remarks how impressed she is at his fast developing abilities and even expresses optimism that Jin may be able to escape Abstergo himself. However, Jin remains silent on this - having not revealed his true reason for wanting to give himself up to Abstergo. It is because Jin believes that the Templars may have a point.

Following their sparring session, Gina and the others begin preparations to have Jin give himself up. They then leave their hotel and make their way over to the Abstergo Foundation facility located in Beijing. Jin decides to go in alone, unsure if the Templars will hold up their end of the bargain and wanting Gina and Sam to have a chance to escape. A short amount of time later, Robbie is released and they quickly leave the area with him, Gina is relieved to see he is okay but upset that Jin sacrificed himself to do so. Following their return to a safe place, Gina informs everyone that they need to rescue Jin now.

Breaking out Jin[]

The three have spend their time devising a plan to break Jin out but to no avail. Robbie apologises to the team for getting caught and putting them all in this situation, however Sam puts the blame on herself. Gina tells them that what's done is done and that they need to accept it and move on, that rescuing Jin is their highest priority.

Eventually, Gina and the others seek the aid of the Chinese Brotherhood who, after hearing their story, agree to help Gina's cell. They spend the next few days planning a guerilla-like assault on Abstergo, in order to break out Jin amongst the chaos and return him to safety. Following the finalisation of this plan, Gina orders Samantha and Robbie to remain behind so Sam can provide tactical support and Robbie is out of danger due to his injured shoulder.

On July 6, Gina accompanies her Chinese brethren and aids in the assault on Abstergo. It is there where she locates Jin, alongside his ally within Abstergo, Huang Min. After recovering Jin and Min, Gina leads their escape while also being accompanied by a small group of Assassin escorts. Finally escaping into the foundation's grounds, Jin shares his surprise that she managed to amass a strike team so fast. Gina seems confused, telling him that they'd contacted the Chinese Brotherhood and planned a breakout for some weeks now. Also confused, Jin reminds her that she had been sent the footage of Hayato's memories but Gina states that the Assassins received no such thing.

Jin asks her who she really sent the footage too, and she smugly tells him to "ask them" his self. Gina, Jin, and a small group of Assassin escorts are suddenly attacked by Maria and Frederic - realising Min is with the Preservers. The Assassins are promptly killed by Frederic as Maria engages with Jin and Gina. Although Gina is well trained and Jin has the skills of both Lonan and Hayato, they still struggle to keep up and defend against Maria - who is much more experienced than the two. With their escort dead, Frederic joins Maria in her duel against Jin and Gina. The two are overwhelmed by Maria's deadly skills and Frederic's inhuman strength.

Gina is eventually knocked out and Maria orders Frederic to kill both her and Jin while the Preservers make their exit. Despite this though, Jin is able to kill Frederic with the aid of Robbie - who refused to sit idle while everyone else put their lives at risk, despite his injury. Gina would later be awakened by Jin and Robbie, and the trio return to the Chinese Brotherhood's hideout.

Confrontation in Japan[]

Informing the Mentor of what had transpired, he acknowledges this notifying Gina and the others that he will contact the Assassins in Japan and arrange for them to be transported to Japan as soon as possible. Some hours later, Gina, Jin, Robbie and Sam are on a military plane en route to Japan. The pilot informs the Assassins over the speaker that a team led by Kiyoshi Takakura had successfully retrieved Ares' Sword from Kyoto with some casualties. As well as this, the team sent to recover the Shield in Tokyo have gone dark.

Robbie expresses that this is good news. Jin is noticeably quiet which the others notice, they ask him what's up and he states that he believes this is all his fault. Sam asks how and Jin confesses that he willingly handed himself over to the Templars because he believed they could quickly put an end to the suffering in the world. Gina, as well as the others, are shocked by this, but Jin continues and states that he eventually saw that their ways were wrong and tried to rectify it by sending the Assassins the footage of Hayato's memories. He then grows visibly angry at the thought of Min, mentioning that she preyed on his desperation and tricked him into retrieving the memories so she could keep the Preservers updated - and now good Assassins are dying because of his mistake. Gina reminds him that right now he is accompanying to make up for his mistake, and that should mean something to him.

Robbie adds that, while Min hoodwinked him, his actions came from a place of good and now they were going to stop both groups from acquiring the Armor. Sam adds in that she's sorry about what happened to his mother. However, Jin states that he is happy that he has some sort of closure and that she didn't willingly leave him. He can make peace with that.

The Assassins arrive in Japan some time later before heading over to the location of where Kakureta and the Hashimoto estate was formerly located. They arrive there to find Baozhai leading a team that is already searching the area, Gina orders Robbie and Sam to keep watch while she and Jin eliminate the Abstergo members. She promptly hands him a smoke bomb, the two throw it into the area and rush toward the agents engulfed in smoke. They assassinate a large amount of Abstergo agents before the smoke dissipates. With a small number left, Gina and Jin then kill the remaining agents.

Baozhai confronts Jin about his actions but she is suddenly shot by Maria, who had also came for the Chestpiece alongside Min and one other Preserver. Gina immediately rushes into action and engages Maria meanwhile Jin rushes to Baozhai and puts pressure on her wound before handing those duties over to Sam so he can aid Gina. Jin and Gina are seperated with the former being forced to face Maria on his own while the latter engages the other.

Gina is struggling to fight against the Preserver, Robbie, after putting Min to sleep, rushes to his sister's aid. Unfortunately, due to his injured shoulder Robbie is unable to be of much help and is quickly dispatched. Despite this, it gives Gina enough time to surprise the Preserver and perform a scissor leg takedown. Landing on top of the Preservers she successfully stabs him with her Hidden Blade. Following this, they find that Jin also managed to defeat and kill Maria.

They find out that Sam was unable to save Baozhai and that she had passed during the fight with the Preservers. Following this, Gina receives confirmation that the Assassin cell recovering the Shield in Tokyo were wiped out but one managed to escape with the Shield. Happy to hear this news, Gina and the others dig up the Chestplate from where Hayato had left it four decades prior. They then call to rendezvouz with the other Assassins at a specific location, taking Min with them in order to interrogate her once she awakened. As they made their way out of Kakureta, Jin expresses his desire to hunt down and eliminate the Preservers.

Ancestry[]

Gina comes from a long line of Assassins, dating back to at least the 17th century.

Gina's earliest known direct ancestors were the Spanish painter Manuel Lucia and his wife Camila. The couple moved to France in 1674 and gave birth to a daughter that same year, Ramona. Ramona would go on to join the Assassins and play an important role in locating the Eden Engines and preventing humanity from extinction in North America. Ramona would later return to France and marry a French Assassin, giving birth to at least one child who would become an ancestor of Gina.

Personality and characteristics[]

The more mature of the Garica twins, opposed to her brother Gina is a pensive and serious individual committed to her goals and the overall Assassin's fight for freewill. Despite her professional nature, she can still be patient, respectful and kind. As a result of her commitment to the Creed, she is lacking in romantic relationships despite her brother's constant attempts to introduce her to other Assassin women in the Brotherhood.

Initially, Gina chose to join the Assassins to honor her parents and to avenge their deaths. However, over time she gradually grew to believe in the Creed and was unqestionably devoted to safeguarding humanity's freewill and achieving peace. Gina also managed to move on from the hatred she felt for the Templars for having a hand in her parent's death, but she still was aware that the Templars needed to be stopped at any cost. Because of this, Gina killed Templars for efficiency and without emotion as opposed to her brother, relishing whenever he killed a Templar.

Equipment and skills[]

Gina spent the entirety of her childhood training in the Assassin's ways and she was highly skilled at only 15 years old - able to dispatch fully trained Abstergo agents when they attacked her home. When she formally joined the Assassins in 2014, she received additional training which only served to enhance her already deadly skillset. Gina is capable of both armed and unnarmed combat, freerunning and stealth. Like many Assassins of the modern period, Gina utilises two Hidden Blades in her arsenal which she uses whenever she is in combat.

Garcia relies heavily on stealth to dispatch her opponents and targets, detesting open combat. However, when she is forced into open combat, Gina utilises her superior athletic ability to take down her targets.

Gina is fluent in both Spanish and English.
