Hilda Ulfsdottir (982 - 1003) was a Viking shieldmaiden from Greenland. She was a member of Leif Erikson's crew and travelled alongside him on his voyage to Vinland. During her time in Vinland, she learned of the conflict between the Hidden Ones and Templars, before later becoming an ally of the former group.
Biography[]
In 999 she met and befriended the Viking Ari Einarrson and Hidden One Livius. Eventually, she fell in love with Ari which led to a romantic relationship between the two. Because of their relationship, Ari disclosed the nature of the Hidden Ones and Templars. When Leif Erikson departed Vinland in 1001, instead of returning home with him she remained in the New World in order to continue helping Ari and Livius hunt down the Templars in Vinland. Hilda was one of the first Europeans to enter an amicable relationship with the indigenous people of America.
In 1003, Hilda along with Ari and Livius discovered the location of an Isu Temple, the Conservatory, where they then encountered and killed the Viking Templar Svend the Cunning. That same time Hilda and Ari also discovered that Livius was a reincarnation of the Isu Pah before being attacked by him. The resulting fight would lead to her death when she was fatally stabbed by Livius, however Livius was killed by Ari's hands. She was later buried by Ari, alongside the Isu key that opened the entrance to the Conservatory.
Legacy[]
Hilda's death went on to contribute to Ari's deep rooted trauma, and although he was able to move on and marry, he never forgot about her.
In 2022, a millennia later, her remains were discovered by the Assassin Horatio Pierce, Ari's descendant, where he would recover the key but not without feeling deep sorrow at the sight of her bones.
