- "It may have taken us fifteen years to recover from the Purge, but I feel like the Assassins are finally back on the right track."
- ―Margaux Allard commenting on the state of the Assassins to Gavin Banks, May 2015.
Margaux Annabelle Allard (Born Margaux Annabelle Andreu on December 15th, 1954) is a French psychologist, diplomat and Master Assassin from Paris, France. She served as the co-leader of the Eagles of Europe, an Assassin Cell that was formed from the ashes of the famed Women’s Liberation Front (WLF), led by her mother Isabelle Miranda Allard. It would be a post she would hold from 2003 to her retirement in May of 2023. Margaux is the younger sister of retired footballer and Assassin Alexandre Allard and the older step-sister of fellow Assassin Lucile Docieux. She is of French, British, Austrian, and Danish descent. She is a seventh-generation member of the Dorian Family through the line of Francois Charles Dorian.
She has been called ‘the most natural successor as mentor’ to her mother Isabelle.
Early Years[]
Margaux Annabelle Andreu was born to parents Isabelle Miranda Andreu and her husband Xavier David Andreu on the cold afternoon of December 15th, 1954 out at the Dorian Family Cabin at Aix-les-Bains in southern France. Isabelle was an ex-French Military Captain and later became a criminologist, diplomat, and musician, as well as serving as the Mentor of the Parisian Brotherhood of Assassins, whereas her father was a carpenter and a diplomat. Margaux would spend the first year of her life out at the Dorian Family Cabin, spending time with her parents and brother, and enjoyed playing on the sandy beach with Isabelle in the summer. They would return to Saint-Denis and grow up in the sometimes tense, but nice, quiet neighborhood in Paris. After school, Margaux would always play football in the park behind their house with Alexandre. When she was four, Margaux accompanied her mother Isabelle, father Xavier, Vivian Cadieux-Foden, her daughter and Margaux’s best friend Valerie Cadieux-Foden, Irina McCall, and Diane Laurent when they traveled across Africa providing food, water, and clothing to the villages they visited, even playing football with the children of the villages. Margaux would later say that this trip ‘opened her eyes’ and led her to fight for human rights.
A Tumultuous End[]
In June 1960, Margaux and Alexandre came home from playing football in the park, they opened the front door just in time to witness a heated argument between Isabelle and Xavier. Hiding behind a wall, the two children peeked around the corner to see Xavier punch Isabelle in the face, knocking her down into the kitchen cupboards. He glared at the children, telling them that they saw nothing before storming out of the house. Both Alexandre and Margaux hugged their mother, making a vow to help their father change his ways.
A year later in June 1961, while her mother was away in Canada on an Assassin mission, Margaux went to go ask her father for a glass of water, where she would catch her father having intimate relations with another woman. Xavier looked at her and told her not to tell anyone about this. Ignoring him, she immediately ran to Vivian and informed her of what her father was doing. Vivian reassured the young girl that she would monitor his behavior and report it to Isabelle upon her return to France.
Upon Isabelle’s return to France, Margaux could hear the profanity-laden argument between both her parents, and she ran over to Vivian crying. Vivian consoled the young girl until Xavier stormed out of their room. Margaux left Vivian’s arms and hugged her mother at her hips, asking her if all the words she said were true. Isabelle told her that they were, that she would be divorcing him, and that they would go out to the cabin for the weekend to clear their minds. Isabelle would later win the custody of Margaux and Alexandre in a heated court battle. Shortly after, Margaux and Alexandre’s last names were later changed from Andreu to Allard, due to her mother’s victory in court.
A year later, her mother began a relationship with fellow high-ranking Assassin Edouard Docieux and was introduced to his daughter, Lucile. The two young girls would develop a strong bond that carries on to this day. Both she and Luclie were flower girls during their parents’ wedding in 1963.
Meeting Quin Williams[]
While out on a trip to the cabin, Alexandre and Margaux were fishing on the dock when her mother ushered them into the cabin, telling them there was something she had to deal with outside. Closing the door behind them, the two children got bored easily and wandered out to where her mother was. Hiding in the brush, they could see their mother talking to an elderly woman in a purple dress about ‘assassins’ and ‘Stefan Klein’. Margaux giggled, which caught the attention of the elderly woman, who ordered them to show themselves. After telling the elderly assassin she’d take them back to the cabin, Quin let them stay and she answered questions pertaining to what the two older women were talking about. Margaux sat in awe over the story of their two families and what her mother did to Stefan Klein, finally getting an answer to what happened to her mother’s ring finger.
In April of 1964, Isabelle was arrested for her role in a topless protest for women’s rights and was sentenced to an eight-month house arrest sentence, which she served out at her cabin in Lac du Bogart. Margaux, Alexandre, and Edouard were only allowed to visit her once a week to bring her groceries under strict police supervision. This greatly saddened the young Margaux, as she thought it was unfair for her mom to be imprisoned for doing something she thought was right.
Attempted Assassination of Isabelle Allard[]
- Margaux: "Mother, can I come up on the stage with you while you speak?"
- Isabelle: "No Margaux my dear, you’ll be at the front of the stage with Aunt Vivian. Mom will be fine. I tell you what, once my speech is over and we pick up Alex and Lucile from football practice, we’ll all get some ice cream. Sounds good?"
- Margaux: "Yay"
- Isabelle: "See you in a bit sweetie. Mom loves you."
- Margaux and Isabelle before Isabelle's speech, August 9th, 1965
On August 9th, 1965, Isabelle was going to give a speech at Parc Monceau about the Vietnam War at 1pm. Margaux was excited because after her mother’s speech, her, Alexandre, Isabelle, Edouard, Lucile, Valerie, and Vivian would go for ice cream. was watching her mother give her speech when at 1:20 pm, a gunman opened fire on Isabelle, connecting with two bullets to Isabelle’s left side, severely injuring her. Screaming, Margaux freed herself from Vivian’s tight grip. She quickly identified who shot her mother and grabbed the gunman by his leg as he was trying to escape, allowing Vivian to tackle the gunman while her stepfather gave Isabelle first aid. She held onto his legs tightly, preventing his escape until the police came to arrest the assassin. At Edouard’s request, he beckoned Margaux to get in the ambulance with him and Isabelle. In the ambulance, Margaux witnessed her mother briefly pass away from blood loss, only to be resuscitated by way of CPR. For the duration of the ride to the hospital, she would hold her mother's hand, hoping her mother would survive her wounds. Margaux would travel with her parents and stay at the hospital with her mother as she recovered from her surgery, staying the full two weeks at her mother’s side, helping her get to her feet because she couldn’t get up due to her limp arm. A nurse asked Margaux why she was at the hospital and not school, and Margaux simply replied that she was homeschooled and had nothing better to do, which was true. Margaux would later state that the stay with her mother in the hospital and the tense ride to the hospital would inspire Margaux to enter the medical field when she grew up.
Margaux’s quick identification of the suspect led Isabelle and Vivian to believe that Margaux possessed Eagle Vision, which was later proven to be true.
Master Assassin[]
In 1964, Margaux began her training as an Assassin Apprentice, training in all aspects of the Creed. Margaux would learn theory from her mother and Irina McCall, and learn the aspects of freerunning and combat with Vivian and her step-father, Edouard. Over the next nine years, she would train alongside her step-sister Lucile and best friend Valerie. All three women would earn their Master Assassin rank in 1981, and join her mother’s cell as Master Assassins and Diplomats. As the lead diplomat, Margaux was tasked with maintaining and persevering the alliances with the brotherhoods her mother and Vivian had forged ties with in the past. Despite being well versed in combat, Margaux was never tasked with any missions, due to Isabelle trusting Margaux with her strong linguistic skills to get out of every tense situation. For these reasons, Margaux would always accompany Isabelle on her diplomatic missions until her mother’s retirement in 1984, taking over the role of sole diplomat in WLF until its collapse in 2000. Margaux would be known for her tense conversations with the likes of President Ronald Reagan and Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, with both stating that Margaux was ‘wise beyond her years’ when it came to her speaking skills.
Great Assassin Purge[]
In December of 2000, while Margaux was recovering from surgery in her left knee, she was informed by a fellow Assassin that Abstergo had struck down the Mentor in Dubai and that an Assassin Purge had been initiated, as well as to tell her that she must go into hiding. Margaux agreed, and checked herself out of the hospital and drove out to her mother’s acreage in Versailles. Meeting up with Alexandre and Lucile, they opened the door to see her mother, Vivian, Irina, and Edouard bidding each other farewells before going into hiding themselves. Once everyone had left, Margaux, Alexandre, and Lucile made sure that their parents were secure, and made frequent visits to them, providing them with groceries and other necessities.
Assault on the Acreage[]
On September 10th, 2001, Margaux was making a routine visit to her parent’s acreage, to give her mother her groceries and to warn her of an assailant picking off her Assassins one by one. Just as she was turning up the driveway, Margaux was beset upon by a man dressed in all black and spoke with a very degrading German tone, his face laced with scars. Margaux was at the assailant’s mercy until she smashed a jar of pickles over his face, allowing her to escape into the house. Her brief moment of respite came to an abrupt end as the intruder slashed the door with his axe, and chased Margaux up the stairs, constantly calling her Isabelle. After slashing him with her hidden blade, he threw Margaux down the stairs with her head whipping into the door. She began to drift in and out of consciousness. As the assailant prepared to kill her, she looked up to see a hidden blade lodged into his throat. He fell down, clutching his neck and looking up in horror at her mother Isabelle before uttering a threat and passing away. Margaux asked if her mother knew the man, and she explained that the man was Stefan Klein, who made her life a living hell in the 1940s and was responsible for murdering her grandmother. She also added that before her retirement in 1984, she discovered that Abstergo had dabbled in cryonics and possibly froze Stefan Klein for a possible purge of Assassins. After Alexandre arrived and fixed the plumbing in Isabelle’s house, they disposed of the body by burning it. While the body was burning, Isabelle warned Margaux that they are after her, that she should form a group of like-minded Assassins and take the fight to Abstergo together, and that she should start in Liverpool with her cousin, Mariana.
Isabelle's Body[]
On December 22nd, 2013, Isabelle Miranda Allard passed away after a brief bout of pneumonia. A few days later, Margaux donated Isabelle's body to Hotel-Dieu for study and agreed to donate her brain to science. After the study, the doctors put Isabelle's nude body on display to show of how remarkable Isabelle's body looked in her nineties, despite her body looking to be as if she was in her forties still, which drew a crowd. Catching wind of this, Margaux demanded the body be returned to her. After a brief legal battle, Isabelle's body was returned to Margaux where it was cremated and a state funeral was given for Isabelle, where here cremated ashes were interred into the Dorian Family Crypt with her husband Edouard.
Eagles of Europe[]
Diplomacy Career[]
In 2017, Margaux traveled to the United States to hold talks with newly elected President Donald J Trump. They discussed everything from foreign policy to the state of their countries. Trump would later state that he had met her mother before and that she had great linguistic skills much like Margaux, and that Isabelle had a ‘firm bosom and a nice tight butt’, and would have 'married her if he could.’ Margaux angrily got up and quickly left the oval office without saying goodbye to the President. Margaux would later cite Trump as ‘the worst person she has met while on a diplomatic tour.’ In June 2022, she held talks with American Vice-President Kamala Harris, who apologized for the words spoken during her last visit.
On May 11th, 2022, Margaux, along with fellow Assassins Valerie Cadieux-Foden, Harlan Baudin, Celeste Williams, Irene Allard, Anastasia, and Meaghan Allard attended the funeral of Diane Laurent in Rome. Upon seeing renowned Templar Juhani Otso Berg in attendance, Margaux and Harlan ordered all Assassins present to leave in order to avoid detection. Upon her return to Paris, Margaux learned that Diane had defected to the Templars after a falling out with her mother Isabelle.
Gauntlet Theft[]
In December of 2021, Margaux was informed by Derek Cadieux-Foden that the Gauntlet’s vault in Lebret, Saskatchewan had been breached by Abstergo Industries. Annoyed, Margaux dismissed Derek and laid back in her chair, only to see her iPhone ring. It was Harlan Baudin, the man she was just about to call. Picking up the phone after exchanging pleasantries, Margaux questioned Harlan about the Gauntlet’s theft, to which he replied that everything was under control and that they had the Gauntlet in their possession. Incensed, Margaux criticized Harlan for his blatant violation of the Lebret Agreement. He replied that he wasn’t the one who stole the Gauntlet and that Darcy and Celeste, with help from Adelaide, all three of them within the Eagles of Europe, successfully took the Gauntlet from its resting place and brought it back to Berkshire. Harlan would later lambast Margaux for having digital documents instead of written ones, which led to a possible hack of their system. She sat back a moment just to process everything that’s happened before she warned Harlan to be ready, because they were going to take him to court for a breach of contract.
On January 9th, 2022, the case between the two Assassin cells came to a close, with the House of Williams retaining custody of the Gauntlet and Darcy and Celeste placed under House Arrest and Probation respectively, and demoted within the EoE. Dissatisfied with the outcome, Margaux and Valerie suggested to Harlan that a new agreement be made. Harlan agreed, but promised talks would start after the Shield of Eden was found.
After the incident, Margaux considered removing Darcy, Celeste, and Adelaide from the EoE, but after considering that her close friend Harlan suggested them to her as help, she issued a one-year ban from fieldwork due to their actions and returned to Bremen to serve it.
Assault on the Bythesea Ancestral Home and Conversation with Colt[]
Margaux was devastated when she heard of the news pertaining to the assault on the Bythesea ancestral home and Prudence’s comatose state. The French Mentor, alongside her friend Valerie, would visit her former comrade in the hospital and would offer her prayers. During her visit to Cornwall, Amelia disallows them to enter Prudence’s quarters as she blames Margaux and the Eagles of Europe for their aunt’s current state and doesn’t fully trust French Mentor herself. Frustrated, Margaux catches Harlan in the cafeteria and approaches him. She then mentions that she and her subordinates made some background checks on the attack and learned that Abstergo studied Prudence’s lineage and targeted Colt as the Templars were planning to find and retrieve the former Countess’ body. As Harlan digested the information, Margaux demanded her friend to have Colt return from their expedition in Rome as she accused him of aggravating their dilemmas; intending to reprimand him herself. Hesitant at first, Harlan ultimately caved in to the pressure from his friend, but warned Margaux that it could get spicy due to Colt’s known dislike for members in her family.
The meeting with Colt took place on May 29th, 2022 in Margaux’s home in Paris. Margaux welcomed Colt into her home where after making a cup of coffee for him, they sat down and discussed the assault on the Williams manor and the state of Prudence. Shortly after, Margaux informed Colt that the Templars had followed him and Cielo to the Manor and launched their assault on Marianne and Prudence after they left and intended to harvest tissue samples from Prudence’s body, and scolded him for practically leading them to Prudence. Alarmed by the sudden scolding, Colt informed Margaux that the Templars discovered the location of the home through the hacking of their digital database and that he doesn’t blame Amelia for not letting them see Prudence due to the entire assault being her fault. Margaux retorted by saying that her plate had been rather full as of late, citing the fact that she was searching for the location of all Martina Laurent’s work, working on retrieving the Shield of Eden, recovering from the hack attempt, as well as getting over COVID herself. Colt scoffed at what he had heard, telling Margaux that they were merely excuses and that she should just accept the responsibility that the hack happened under her watch. Before she could respond, Colt added that at least Isabelle had a spine and accepted her faults before he sarcastically thanked Margaux for the coffee and left, spilling the full cup of coffee as he left.
After Colt slammed the door and left, Margaux sat and pondered his words. He did have a point in saying that her mother was quick to admit her faults and do whatever she could to fix them. After letting out a deep breath, Margaux decided that she would inform the cell that the hack was her mistake and hers alone to fix it. Margaux and the hacking unit of the EoE rectified the issue in July of 2022.
Finding Martina Laurent's Journal[]
On June 22nd, 2022, Margaux was informed by Valerie that they had succeeded in locating Martina’s son Enrico, who was living in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The pair traveled to Toronto and succeeded in locating him at the telecommunications company he worked for, and asked him for a cup of coffee. Enrico agreed, and once he was finished work they went for a coffee at a Tim Hortons in York, where they discussed various topics, which included his mother Martina. He expressed disappointment about his mother, saying the betrayal by his mother was heartbreaking and that when he grew up, he distanced himself from her due to not believing in her cause, which led to his move to Canada. Enrico pulled out his mother’s journal, stating that he had no use for it before handing it to Margaux, telling her that his mother’s true intentions rested in that book. Finishing their coffees, Margaux and Valerie thanked Enrico for their time and stayed at his place before departing for Paris the next day.
Upon her return to France, Margaux cracked open Martina’s journals and studied it extensively. She was shocked to see the disdain Martina had for her mother, and what she had planned to do with her mother if she had succeeded in killing Isabelle. She would have had Isabelle’s nude body suspended in a preserving liquid with several needles in her body to harvest vital tissues from Isabelle in order to study her genome before disposing of her body in a barrel and throwing it into Lake Mead in Nevada, and the alarming worry that through Martina, Abstergo has vials of Isabelle’s blood preserved at Alcor and discovered that Isabelle carried a gene that caused youthfulness despite old age, and was planning on injecting it into Martina’s genome if they succeeded in resurrecting her body at Alcor. A new priority was formed: Infiltrate Alcor in Arizona and destroy Martina’s body.
Death of Prudence Bythesea and Retirement[]
- "I have seen more than enough for one life. My mother was severely disfigured because of this war that is going nowhere. She never got to live a normal life. Prudence never got to live a normal life, which is one thing I would like to do before I pass. Live a normal life. Free from meaningless violence and bloodshed."
- ―Margaux Allard to her allies, May 15th, 2023.
On May 8th, 2023, Margaux received word that Prudence Bythesea had passed away after suffering an aneurysm will still comatose in Cornwall Hospital at the age of 86. Margaux, still reeling from the death of Prudence, attended the funeral and delivered a eulogy, which earned her a few stern looks from the likes of Colt and Marianne Baudin.
Upon her return to Paris, Margaux gathered her closest confidants and allies and brought them out to the cabin north of Aix-les-Bains, and held a conference with them, stating her intention to retire from the Assassin Order for good and resigning from her post as leader of the Eagles of Europe which came to a shock to everyone. Alongside her, Valerie and Alexandre stepped down from their posts as well, joining her friend in retirement with Margaux naming Irene the new leader of the Eagles of Europe. Irene’s first mission as leader would be to lead Operation Boomstick, which would be the EoE’s last successful Operation before the cell’s drastic shift towards a strictly diplomatic and cyber hacking motive to get their message out there. Irene would lead the operation alongside fellow Assassin Chinami Naito. During this meeting, Harlan Baudin caught wind of the spirit of Isabelle Allard placing a hand on a dejected Margaux’s shoulder with a proud smile on her face, and snapped a picture. Upon showing the photo he took to Margaux, it brought a tear to her eye and it further convinced her that she made the right choice in retiring.
After her retirement, Margaux scattered some of Isabelle’s ashes out in front of the cabin and along the pathway to the dock on the property, and took up permanent residence in the cabin with her husband, traveling to the town to get groceries whenever she needed them.
Personal Life[]
Growing up, Margaux was described as a shy and curious girl, not wanting to spend time with anyone but her mother Isabelle, who Margaux often cited as her hero to emulate in life. She was also diagnosed with anxiety in her youth, much like her mother. In order to cope with it, she would play her mother’s guitars and paint landscapes of Paris from Cafe Theatre. On the desk in her office is a photo of her mother. Compared to her mother, Margaux was a bit more conservative when it came to showing skin and women's rights, despite being a strong advocate for the latter.
Margaux would later describe herself as ‘more of a punk’ in her youth. She would maintain a close relationship with her brother Alexandre, despite him being away in England more often due to his football career. She would be present at both the times he played for Nottingham Forest in the European Cup, hoisting the trophy with him as well on both occasions when they won. Even when he moved to the United States in 1983, Margaux would still visit him, flying out to St. Louis, Missouri whenever she could, sometimes taking Isabelle out with her. Nowadays, she still visits him in Nottingham whenever she is able.
Margaux has a very close friendship with her childhood friend, Valerie Cadieux-Foden, due to their mothers being super close friends in their youth. They shared common ground when it came to views on political views and human rights. Today both women serve as leaders of the Eagles of Europe, the successor to Isabelle’s Women’s Liberation Front.
Margaux’s relationship with her stepsister Lucile is described as tight and super close, with Margaux saying that she is happy that she has Lucile in her life and that it’s nice to have a sister in her life and said that she didn’t feel as awkward with Lucile around. When Edouard and Isabelle passed away in 2012 and 2013 respectively, Margaux passed ownership of the Avian Descent Winery and Vineyard over to Lucile due to Margaux’s stance on alcohol.
Margaux also shared a close relationship with Prudence Bythesea, the 14th Countess of Berkshire, due to their time within the Iron Sisterhood and her frequent visits to Isabelle pertaining to Assassin business. Due to their close relationship, Margaux would name Prudence the godmother of her daughter Irene upon her birth in 1973.
Romantic Life[]
Margaux met her future husband, Richard Andrews while she was in high school, and began dating him once she graduated in 1972, and married a year later in June 1973 once Margaux was four months pregnant with her first child. Five months after their wedding, Margaux gave birth to her daughter Irene Allard on February 27th, 1974, and welcomed a son named Christian Allard on November 15th, 1976. At first, Isabelle didn’t approve of Margaux having a child so young but later relented due to the fact it made her a grandmother at the age of 54, something she never expected to happen. Margaux would raise her children alongside her husband while she went to school, majoring in psychology, and later becoming a psychiatrist. She also holds minor degrees in history and political science.
Feud with Chinami Naito[]
Margaux has had a long-standing feud with Japanese Master Assassin Chinami Naito. The feud started back in 1992, during a training session with Chinami in Versailles, Chinami accidentally injured Margaux's left shoulder, which would later require surgery and rehabilitation. Margaux was not happy with how brash and aggressive Chinami was during the session, saying that she kicked and stomped on her injured shoulder, even telling her mother Isabelle and close friend Valerie that she wished to not spar with Chinami again unless she 'cleaned up her act'. Chinami stated that it was an accident and that Margaux shouldn't take it personally, and offered to spar with Margaux once she had recovered from her shoulder surgery. Margaux refused, which led to Chinami calling her a coward.
During the Great Purge of 2000-01, Chinami's Hidden Tigers cell was assaulted by Otso Berg and his Abstergo Sigma Team, which led to their force being decimated and Chinami suffering several injuries. Chinami criticized Margaux for not sending aid. Margaux stated that she was unable to because her family was under threat as well. After this, Margaux and Chinami distanced themselves from each other, meeting again in 2006, only with more hostilities.
In July of 2006, Chinami was in Versailles for a visit to Margaux at the home of her mother Isabelle with some of her Hidden Tigers and fellow members of the Eagles of Europe. The meeting was rife with tension between the two Assassin Mentors, with words being exchanged in elevated voices. Annoyed and frustrated with Margaux’s stubbornness, Chinami began to leave, ordering her Assassins to follow suit. One of Margaux's Assassins retorted with ‘Whatever you say, Chi-Chi.” along with some laughs from the Eagles of Europe present. Before Margaux could reprimand the Assassin, Chinami froze and turned around upon hearing the Assassin's racist comment, with her Hidden Tigers having shocked looks on their faces. Chinami stormed towards Margaux and grabbed her by her left arm, holding it behind her back and twisting it sharply, warning Margaux and the Eagles of Europe that she will not tolerate racism towards her or her Assassins. She held onto the hold, nearly popping Margaux's shoulder out of her socket until Isabelle ordered her to stand down. As she was about to leave, Chinami shouted ‘Shēpuappu’ (シェープアップ, shape up) at Margaux and the Assassin, the latter scoffing at Chinami’s verbal jab as she angrily left the house.
The ‘Chi Chi Incident’ as it was later called, caused a severe rift between the Hidden Tigers and the Eagles of Europe that lasted for seven years, with the two Mentors reconciling shortly after the funeral of Margaux’s mother Isabelle in December of 2013. Margaux removed the Assassin from the Eagles of Europe, and has stated that it wasn't her that made the racist remark.
Margaux and Chinami would only begin to speak on positive terms after Margaux's retirement from the Assassins in May of 2023.
