Pearl Gesner (1839 - 1899) was a German-American farmer who was involved in the arrest of the wanted outlaw, Alameda Slim during the Wild West in Wyoming in 1889.
Background
Pearl was born in 1829 in Essen, Province of Westphalia, Prussia (now Germany) to Johann Joachim Gottfried Gesner (1819 - 1880) and Helga Volker (1821 - 1883). When she 6 months old, her parents immigrated to America where they would settle on a farm called Patch of Heaven near the town of Chugwater in Wyoming. In 1889, Gesner was involved in the arrest of the wanted outlaw and templar, Alameda Slim after three of her cows attacked Slim while he was in disguise and Slim was arrested by the local sheriff, Samuel Brown. Thanks to her cows, Gesner used Slim's 750 dollars bounty to pay her bank debts and would go on to life until her passing in 1899.
