The Pierce Sample Project is an Abstergo Industries initiative run via its entertainment branch. Similar to the Sample 17 Project, the project's aim was to research the genetic memories of the late Horatio Pierce, an Assassin who died in 2022.
The project's top priority was to locate Pieces of Eden that Pierce's ancestors may have recovered or interacted with in the past, or at the very least find suitable material for Helix programs, feature films, and other related content.
Greenlit Features[]
Saga - Ari Einarrson[]
The Viking Hidden One Ari Einarrson's genetic memories were finalized and a feature based on him was greenlit. Initially, the feature was intended to center on Einarrson's life as a Viking but this idea was scrapped once Abstergo realised there was not enough footage of Einarrson's time as a Viking (only living the lifestyle from his early to mid teens). However, his revenge quest against the Templar Viking clan, the Hveðrungr clan, his romance with Hilda Ulfsdottir and Livius' betrayal was deemed marketable as a feature film. Einarrson's status as a Hidden One as well as any mention of the Conservatory were removed via heavy memory editing.
The feature film is to be titled Saga.
Salvation - Ugochukwu[]
The Nigerian Assassin Ugochukwu's genetic memories were deemed marketable and greenlit. The initial goal was to create a spiritual successor to Liberation based on the genetic memories of Ugo's wife Iona Moartz but her search for the Source of Eden intruded too much on the idea, and was too prominent to edit out. Instead of this, Ugochukwu's actions freeing slaves as well as his involvement in the American Civil War impressed Abstergo enough to instead switch the focus of Salvation onto him. Of course, Ugochukwu's link to the Assassins will be removed via editing.
Salvation will be a memory based video game for the Helix system.
Rejected Features[]
Rōnin Kurosawa[]
Following the finalization of the Japanese Assassin Rōnin Kurosawa's genetic memories, Abstergo toyed with the idea of making a shinobi based video game based on his memories. However, it was eventually deemed a risky project to develop due to the Assassins' heavy presence within his life as well as his devotion to the Creed. Despite this, a request was put in to locate Kojiro no Umon's body in order to gather genetic samples to explore the Templar Grand Master's early years and produce a samurai video game with the Templars at the forefront.
Küpeyakwüskonam[]
The Cree warrior Küpeyakwüskonam's genetic memories were passed over for a feature due to his relationship with the Assassin Ramona Lucia and his search for the Eden Engines. Despite this though, Abstergo considered producing a feature on Küpeyakwüskonam's early life exploring pre-colonial Canada. As well as this, his presence at the Battle of Hudson's Bay and the 1700 Cascadia earthquake showed potential for a historical documentary but it was ultimately shelved.
Richard Ravensdale[]
Abstergo wanted to make a feature from the British Templar Richard Ravensdale's genetic memories deeming his defection from the Assassins to the Templars an interesting plotline, as well as his time captaining the Banshee. Unfortunately, there was not enough data on Ravensdale's time as a Templar, having conveived his son some months into his Templar journey. The feature was then rejected.
Kenneth Ravensdale[]
The British Assassin Kenneth Ravensdale's genetic memories were deemed too uninteresting to produce a feature based on him. In addition, the conception of his son inhibited any additional research into the Assassin's life.
Osyka[]
The Choctaw Assassin Osyka's genetic memories were considered for a tragic feature based on the Ravensdale family and how it was destroyed by the Assassin and Templar war, but Abstergo deemed the feature to be too risky as it paints the Templars in too negative of a light.
