Roberto "Robbie" Garcia (born 1998) is a member of the American Brotherhood of Assassins. Robbie serves as a trained field agent and is the twin brother of Gina Garcia, as well as the descendant of the French-born Spanish Assassin Ramona Lucia. Roberto operates within an Assassin cell led by his sister.

In 2022, thanks to information received by the Templar Leah Chavez, Robbie and his cell learned of the existance of Jin Chen, a descendant of an Assassin of interest. They were then tasked with locating and retrieving Chen in order to explore his genetic memories and discover what it is Abstergo and another shadow group want with him.

Biography[]

Early life[]

Robbie was born 11 minutes after his twin sister, Gina, in an Assassin compound in Santo Domingo, 1998. However, Robbie and his family were forced to flee to the Texas, United States during the Great Purge in December 2000, shortly after his 2nd birthday. Following the Great Purge, the Garcias were forced into hiding posing as a normal family.

As a result, Robbie and Gina had a relatively normal life growing up, they attended school, hung out with friends and more. However, they were also rigorously trained by their parents in their spare time - but they were still unaware of their Assassin heritage with their parents deeming it safer that they did not know until they were old enough.

At 15, Robbie was awoken by an Abstergo invasion in his family's home, here to abduct either him, Gina or their father due to their connection to the 17th century Spanish-French Assassin Ramona Lucia. Using the skills he had been taught by his parents, Robbie fought off the Abstergo agents alongside his family. However, as it was going to be a losing fight Robbie and Gina were ordered by their parents to flee and find Gavin Banks in a specified location.

Robbie initially refused to abandon his parents, wanting to go down alongside them but Gina managed to convince him to flee with her. The two were able to make their escape, killing some Abstergo agents along the way. After reaching a fair distance away from their home, Robbie and Gina would witness their house erupt in flames from an explosion initiated by their parents so that Abstergo would be unable to extract any genetic samples from them.

Some days later, Robbie and Gina managed to locate Banks and they revealed to him who they were, their parents and what had transpired, still confused at the entire situation. Banks eventually took them in, aboard the Altaïr II he would then reveal to them of their Assassin heritage and what their parents died for, explaining to the twins of the Assassins, Templars, their conflict and what each group stood for. After explaining this to them, aware of how dangerous their life would be now that Abstergo is aware of their existence, Banks offers them a place within the Assassins and aboard the Altaïr II. Wanting to honor their parents, and avenge their deaths, the twins accept Gavin's offer.

The twins' training would continue for the next few years. Gina eventually attained the rank of Master Assassin and was assigned to an Assassin cell led by his sister, comprising of himself and Sam Maguire.

Search for Jin Chen[]

In 2022, the Assassins had been hounded by another secret organisation that had been going on for a year. William Miles tasked Robbie and his cell with gathering more information on this group. During their investigation, the Assassins also learned that the Templars were also being attacked by this mysterious group.

In June, Leah Chavez, a disillusioned Templar, leaked information to the Assassins that Abstergo had tracked down an Assassin descendant by the name of Jin Chen who's ancestor has a link to finding the answers they need. Sam was able to track Chen down to a police precinct in Philadelphia and the Assassins quickly made their way to him. Arriving at the precinct, they saw that Abstergo and the other group had already arrived.

Robbie and Gina rushed in and intercepted two Abstergo agents that were escorting Chen out of the precinct and swiftly assassinated them. Grabbing Chen, they shoved him in the van they arrived in and quickly sped off into the night. Chen immediately attacks Gina but Robbie swiftly apprehends him. Once Jin is calm, Robbie releases him and the two introduce themselves, revealing themselves to be Assassins.

Robbie and Gina explain to Chen the situation and why they were looking for him. Jin deduces that they need him to relive the memories of his ancestor to figure out what it is he's wanted for. He agreed to relive his ancestor's memories, knowing that this is the safest option for him.

Some time later, the Assassins arrive at a hideout in Jersey City and introduce Jin to Samantha before immediately getting to work.

Arthur Kavanagh[]

Jin explores the genetic memories of his Irish Assassin ancestor Arthur Kavanagh, which Robbie and the others closely monitor his progress. During Jin's first animus session the group uncover the existence of the Preservers of Humanity. Following the conclusion of this first session, Robbie insults Jin about his criminal past and the two enter an argument which results in an altercation. Gina is forced to stop this - reminding them what they were her for and to act like adults or else.

The next day, Robbie attempts to apologise to Jin for his previous behaviour but his apology is rejected. Later on in the day, the group take a break from the current animus session and Jin heads outside for fresh air. Following him, he stands beside Jin silently, Jin is still angry at Robbie and prepares to leave until Robbie asks him to stop.

Robbie then sincerely apologises, stating that he gets really serious when it comes to Assassin and Templar stuff. It is then he reveals to Jin how his and Gina's parents were killed - during an attack on their home. Robbie reveals through a flashback that Abstergo came to abduct him and his sister due to their ancestry and their parents died so they could escape. He expresses to Jin how much he hates Abstergo and that when people don't take the Assassin-Templar seriously, it sets him off. He apologises once more and also expresses empathy that Abstergo have now made it impossible for him to return to his old life.

Later, the group resumes Jin's animus session and they learn of the Preservers goals to rid the world of the Assassins and Templars, as well as this they also discover the existence of the Armor of Ares.

Encounter with the Preservers[]

Gina informs the group that their next priority is locating the Armor through Jin's genetic memories. However, before they can do this they are discovered by the Preservers who attacked Jin in Philadelphia.

Gina orders Jin and Sam to pack and get in the van as fast as they can while they deal with whoever's in the car. Gina and Robbie go on to meet the intruders, revealing themselves to be none other than the man and woman who attacked Jin. They introduce themselves simply as Maria and Frederic, feigning friendliness they "kindly" ask for the Assassins to hand over Jin. Robbie refuses cursing them out, Gina asks how they even found them and Maria reveals that they put a tracker on Jin when Abstergo grabbed him.

Robbie's impulsiveness gets the better of him and he immediately charges toward the two Preservers, however Maria shoots him in the shoulder calling it a warning shot. In her earpierce, Sam notifes Gina that all the essentials are loaded up. With that, Gina deploys a smoke bomb knowing that they are outmatched she helps Robbie and leads him to the van. As they enter the van, Gina searches for a tracker on Jin before throwing it out as Sam speedily drives off. As they flee, Gina begins patching up Robbie. Panicked, Sam reveals that the Preservers are following and are hot on their tail.

The Preservers begin open firing on the Assassins' van but Sam is driving in such an erratic and unpredictable way where the Preservers are having difficulty shooting their tires. Robbie curses himself for letting himself get shot by the Preservers. Jin offers to drive instead of Sam, having drove a frew getaway cars in his past. Agreeing, Sam hands over the wheel to Jin and Gina comes up with an idea on her own. She tells Sam to continue tending to Robbie while she gets in the passenger seat next to Jin. Pulling out a magnum from the dashboard, she tells Jin to do what he can to get them out of harm's way.

Gina and Jin are able to successfully escape from the Preservers. Jin celebrates their escape before being reminded by an annoyed Robbie that he's been shot. Still icy with Robbie, Jin tells him that he'll walk it off with Gina agreeing, revealing he will survive his injury. Sam adds on that he won't be able to return to the field for a while though because of his shoulder, wrapping it up in a sling. Robbie tries to argue with Sam but Gina uses her authority as the elder sister and leader, telling him the decision is final.

Search for the Armor of Ares[]

Following their escape, the Assassins travel to New York and hide out in a motel in Queens. After setting up in the motel, Gina announces her new plan, that they will continue the search for the Armor of Eden through Arthur's memories and also train Jin. Everyone is surprised at this but Gina reminds everyone that Robbie is currently benched due to his injury and having 2 field agents is better than one.

Following this, Jin re-enters the Animus in order to begin his search for the Armor of Ares. However, due to the nature of genetic memory, he is forced to relive the memories of Arthur's son Lonan Kavanagh. Remaining optimistic, Gina assures everyone that Lonan was with Arthur in Japan, and judging from the conversation that they witnessed between the two, it can be assumed that Lonan will continue Arthur's mission after the latters death in 1615. Following this, Jin continues searching through Lonan's memories.

During Jin's Animus session, Robbie and the rest of the team witness Lonan being framed for the murder of his father and the Japanese Mentor through the feed. Gina conveys her shock at the way Arthur died, hoping he would have gone out in better circumstances. Robbie desires for Lonan to kill Ichiro and avenge his dad but Sam interjects that he has all the Assassins after him now, not liking where this story will go. On that note, it is now night time and Gina puts a pin on their Animus session for the day. Following this, Jin shows genuine concern for Robbie and asks him how he is doing, Robbie is otherwise fine but desires to get back at the Preservers. Jin also expresses his desire to fight them too but Gina chimes in that he still needs to improve his skills first, telling him that they'll have a training session the next day.

The next day, following Gina and Jin's training session in the city, Jin returns to Lonan's memories. Following the conclusion of another portion of Lonan's memories, the group are shocked to find out that Lonan joined the Templar Order. Saddened that Lonan was so desperate that he had to turn to the Templars. However, Jin defends Lonan. Despite this though, he asks to be returned to Lonan's memories which Sam obliges.

Bait[]

The following day, the Assassins discover that Lonan retrieved the Sword and Shield from Ares' armor during his time in Japan, handing it over to the Templars. During this time, Robbie heads out into the city to gather more supplies. However, he is intercepted by Abstergo who managed to track down the Assassins in New York due to Sam's repeated sneaking out to see her family during the night. Due to his injury, Robbie is unable to fight them off and captured. Unbenknownst to him, a high ranking member of Abstergo, Zhao Baozhai, has ordered Robbie's kidnapping and for him to be brought back to an Abstergo facility in China.

Robbie would spend the next few days there, although he wasn't interrogated or forced to enter an Animus to relive any of his ancestors' memories. In fact, he received no attention at all. Because of this, Robbie was confused as to why he had been kidnapped in the first place. He would randomly be released, unaware that Jin had offered himself up to Abstergo in exchange for Robbie's release.

Upon being released from Abstergo, he was quickly reunited with Gina and Sam where he would learn the purpose behind his kidnapping. To serve as bait. Following his reunion with his allies, Robbie assisted Gina and Sam in orchestrating a plan to break out Jin.

Reunion with Jin[]

Eventually, Robbie and the others seek the aid of the Chinese Brotherhood who, after hearing their story, agree to help their cell. They spend the next few days planning a guerilla-like assault on Abstergo, in order to break out Jin amongst the chaos and return him to safety. Following the finalisation of this plan, Gina orders Robbie and Sam to remain behind so Sam can provide tactical support and Robbie is out of danger due to his injured shoulder.

However, a few hours later Robbie grows restless and despite Sam's protests - he leaves to involve himself on the assault. Knowing she is unable to convince him, Sam provides tactical support for Robbie while he is out in the field. Robbie promptly took a spare Hidden Blade and a van, and raced to the Abstergo facility. Parking not far from the facility, he made his way to the Abstergo grounds and found Jin on the verge of being strangled to death by Frederic.

Robbie rushes toward Frederic and plunges his Hidden Blade in the back of the neck. However, in his last moments, Frederic utilises the last of his strength and grabs Robbie by the wrist and throws him overhead before attempting to finish off Jin. Dazed, Robbie sees Jin is in need of aid and tosses him a Hidden Blade he had brought for Jin. Catching it, he proceeds to activate the bracer into Frederic's throat, killing him. His body falls on Jin and he struggles to push him off but Robbie gets up and helps him move the body. Jin thanks Robbie for helping him, asking him how he knew to come. Robbie states that he didn't and simply just didn't want to wait on the sidelines whilst everyone else risked their life, and had happened to find him in need of assistance.

The two then approach Gina and wake her up, Jin tells the two that he knows where the Armor pieces are located and that they need to notify the Assassins in Japan to get there before the Templars or Preservers do. They then make their escape to the hideout of the Chinese Brotherhood.

Confrontation in Japan[]

Informing the Mentor of what had transpired, he acknowledges this notifying Robbie and the others that he will contact the Assassins in Japan and arrange for them to be transported to Japan as soon as possible. Some hours later, Robbie, Gina, Jin, and Sam board a military plane and make their way to Japan. The pilot informs the Assassins over the speaker that a team led by Kiyoshi Takakura had successfully retrieved Ares' Sword from Kyoto with some casualties. As well as this, the team sent to recover the Shield in Tokyo have gone dark.

Robbie expresses that this is good news. Jin is noticeably quiet which the others notice, they ask him what's up and he states that he believes this is all his fault. Sam asks how and Jin confesses that he willingly handed himself over to the Templars because he believed they could quickly put an end to the suffering in the world. Robbie, as well as the others, are shocked by this, but Jin continues and states that he eventually saw that their ways were wrong and tried to rectify it by sending the Assassins the footage of Hayato's memories. He then grows visibly angry at the thought of Min, mentioning that she preyed on his desperation and tricked him into retrieving the memories so she could keep the Preservers updated - and now good Assassins are dying because of his mistake. Gina reminds him that right now he is accompanying to make up for his mistake, and that should mean something to him.

Robbie adds that, while Min hoodwinked him, his actions came from a place of good and now they were going to stop both groups from acquiring the Armor. Sam adds in that she's sorry about what happened to his mother. However, Jin states that he is happy that he has some sort of closure and that she didn't willingly leave him. He can make peace with that.

The Assassins arrive in Japan some time later before heading over to the location of where Kakureta and the Hashimoto estate was formerly located. They arrive there to find Baozhai leading a team that is already searching the area, Gina orders Robbie and Sam to keep watch while she and Jin eliminate the Abstergo members. She promptly hands him a smoke bomb, the two throw it into the area and rush toward the agents engulfed in smoke. They assassinate a large amount of Abstergo agents before the smoke dissipates. With a small number left, Gina and Jin then kill the remaining agents.

Robbie and Sam, while emerged in a hiding spot, watch Jin and Baozhai's confrontation leading up to her being shot by Maria and the other Preservers. Following this, Jin calls for Sam's aid in the hopes of getting her to stop Baozhai's bleeding. Meanwhile, Jin and Gina engage Maria and another Preserver. Seeing that Min is unprotected by Maria, as she is distracted by Jin and Gina, Robbie seizes the opportunity to attempt to seize Min. Leaving Sam with Baozhai, he rushes toward Min and successfully apprehends her, placing her in a chokehold from behind with his good arm. Meanwhile, Jin and Gina are seperated with the former being forced to face Maria on his own while the latter engages the other.

Gina struggles to fight against the Preserver, Robbie, after putting Min to sleep, rushes to his sister's aid. Unfortunately, due to his injured shoulder Robbie is unable to be of much help and is quickly dispatched. Despite this, it gives Gina enough time to surprise the Preserver and perform a scissor leg takedown. Landing on top of the Preservers she successfully stabs him with her Hidden Blade. Following this, they find that Jin also managed to defeat and kill Maria.

They find out that Sam was unable to save Baozhai and that she had passed during the fight with the Preservers. Following this, Gina receives confirmation that the Assassin cell recovering the Shield in Tokyo were wiped out but one managed to escape with the Shield. Happy to hear this news, Robbie and the others dig up the Chestplate from where Hayato had left it four decades prior. They then call to rendezvouz with the other Assassins at a specific location, taking Min with them in order to interrogate her once she awakened. As they made their way out of Kakureta, Jin expresses his desire to hunt down and eliminate the Preservers.

Ancestry[]

Robbie comes from a long line of Assassins, dating back to at least the 17th century.

Robbie's earliest known direct ancestors were the Spanish painter Manuel Lucia and his wife Camila. The couple moved to France in 1674 and gave birth to a daughter that same year, Ramona. Ramona would go on to join the Assassins and play an important role in locating the Eden Engines and preventing humanity from extinction in North America. Ramona would later return to France and marry a French Assassin, giving birth to at least one child who would become an ancestor of Robbie.

Personality and characteristics[]

Roberto

Brash, opinionated and headstrong but also charismatic, outgoing and witty, Robbie had a variety of friends and rivals growing up. As well as this, Robbie was seen as a charmer and womaniser which followed him well into his adulthood. Compared to his sister, the two couldn't be any more different.

While Robbie does believe in the Assassins goal of freewill, his devotion to his family and loved ones go beyond his loyalty to the Assassin Brotherhood as shown by his initial refusal to leave his parents behind. As well as this, Robbie is always concerned for the wellbeing of his sister to the point he meddles in her love life, hoping to find her a girlfriend so that she would "focus less" on work.

Following the death of his parents at the hand of the Templars, Robbie has since grown to develop a deep rooted hatred for their Order and cause. While his sister has managed to move on and separate her emotions from the Templars, Robbie actively finds joy whenever he is able to kill one. Wishing to purge the world of Templars, it is unlikely his disdain for them will falter.

Equipment and skills[]

Robbie spent the entirety of his childhood training in the Assassin's ways and he was highly skilled at only 15 years old - able to dispatch fully trained Abstergo agents when they attacked his home. When he formally joined the Assassins in 2014, he received additional training which only served to enhance his already deadly skillset. Like his sister, Robbie is capable of both armed and unarmed combat and is proficient in freerunning and stealth.

Unlike his sister, who relies more on stealth, Robbie's headstrong and brash nature bleeds into his work as an Assassin. Finding it difficult to maintain a low profile, he prefers the thrill of open combat with his hatred of Abstergo fuelling his bloodlust, Robbie is able to fight hoards of Abstergo soldiers at a time. As well as this, he is impatient and finds difficulty in biding his time waiting to assassinate targets. Because of this, he is regularly reprimanded by his sister and other Assassin superiors and usually finds himself relegated to missions with heavy combat, rather than espionage.

In combat, Robbie wields two Hidden Blades and utilises his freakish brute strength to combat enemies. As well as this he is incredibly athletic almost rivalling his sister, able to evade and move around his opponents with vicious grace.

Robbie is fluent in Spanish and English.
