Saami (born c.1524) was a member of the Afar people and a human reincarnation of a prominent member of the Isu. She was also an ancestor of Tavon Freeman.
In 1532, during the Ethiopian-Adal War Saami was targeted and kidnapped by the Ottoman Rite of the Templar Order due to her status as a reborn Isu. Saami would undergo repeated torture in order to gain her access to the memories of her former life as an Isu.

Early life[]
The girl who would come to be known as Saami's past is shrouded in mystery. Born around 1514, she was discovered near-death in the Afar region of Ethiopia in 1520 by the Afar Camad and his son Qali. The girl was promptly taken to be treated where she would eventually fall under the care of Camad and Qali's village's Sultan.
As she recuperated, the Sultan and his wife made the decision to adopt her as they had no children of their own. Eventually, she would meet Qali again who had requested to see her. That day, Qali gives her the name "Saami" and the two swiftly became inseperable friends.
As the years would go by, Saami and Qali's friendship gradually formed into love and the two entered a secret relationship due to the fact that her father wished to marry her off to a higher class member of the tribe, Kaamil. During this time, Saami would have recurring dreams in which she was unable to recall the peripheral, only the feelings - being fear, anxiety, desperation, and a pending sense of doom
Kidnapped by the Templars[]
In 1532, the star-crossed lovers would rendezvous and travel to a sulphur spring together for a romantic evening together. There, the couple discussed about their relationship and Saami's soon-to-be marriage to Kaamil. They also talk about Qali's desire to join in the current ongoing war, in order to take a life and earn the right to marry Saami. The topic of conversation then moves on to Saami's dreams and how they continue to persist.
The couple are then interrupted by the arrival of armed men and Qali immediately readies himself to defend Saami. Saami witnesses Qali engage the men, but is outnumbered. While Qali is focusing on fending off their attackers, she is subsequently kidnapped by a member that managed to slip through Qali's focus. Qali is distracted by Saami's cries as she tries to fight off her kidnap her. This distraction results in Qali being knocked out and allowing the remaining men to kidnap Saami and take her to Gey.
