Shakuru (75,100 BCE - 2022 CE) was an Isu scientist and Supremacist, and the lover of her assistant Pah. A member of the Illuminat, Shakuru aided her fellow Isu in attempting to prevent the Great Catastophe. Like many of her Isu compatriots, she was revered as a god by early humans, particularly in what would become Indigenous North American culture. As Isu Supremacists, Shakuru and Pah became adversaries of the Asgardian Isu Magni, who was a human sympathiser.
Biography[]
Isu Era[]
Following the various failed attempts of prevension, Shakuru and Pah came up with a solution of their own. Shakuru, alongside other Isu, would go into stasis beneath the Earth and have Pah awaken them when the devastation had passed. Firstly, the couple would garner aid of the Asgardian Isu Magni, one of Asgard's greatest scientific minds. Magni aided Pah and Shakuru in designing the stasis pods that would store Shakuru and their Isu compatriots, then construct a temple around it which would go on to become the Conservatory.
The second step involved utilising Juno's technology that allowed members of the Isu to reincarnate into members of the human race. Pah was to upload his genome in order to reincarnate into a single human bloodline, through his reincarnations Pah would enact their plan.
Magni would eventually discover Pah and Shakuru's plan, as a human sympathiser, he would not let it stand. Secretly, the Asgardian tampered with the designs of the Conservatory, restricting the access to the Stasis Chamber behind his own bloodline.
Shakuru underwent stasis, completely unaware of Magni's actions.
Modern times[]
Over a millennia later, in 2022, Pah's modern reincarnation, Kyle North successfully achieved the plan that she and Pah had conducted so long prior. North re-awakened Shakuru and the other Isu members, reunited with her beloved, even in a human body, she was ready to retake the world with the man she loved. North led Shakuru and the others out of the Conservatory, and into a new world.
Shakuru and the others were led by North to one of his Isu temple hideouts, located off the grid and away from Abstergo's prying eyes. Shakuru and the Isu are still recovering from being in stasis, readjusting to their motor controls after not using them in millennia. Shakuru expresses her delight of being with North again, referring to him as Pah, before expressing sympathy for having to experience so many lifetimes and being away from his people for so long. North reminds her that he isn't the Pah she knew, assuring her that he still loved her deeply, but explains that the high amount of Isu genes allowed him to perfectly merge with Pah's memories and retain elements of his own personality. Shakuru seems disappointed by this, realising, North changes the subject and explains that once everyone has recuperated, they'll enact their plan.
Later on, North asks Shakuru what the next step of the plan was, wondering if they planned to use the Factory. Now having mostly recovered, Shakuru reveals to North that the Factory was too small a prize, she did not want to control the humans but instead wipe them out, then repopulate the planet with Isu. North finds interest in the plan, however, he questions how they would do that to which, gleefully, Shakuru responds that there is a lot he didn't know.
However, Shakuru would then go on to reveal the existence of Eden Engines to North and their relevance to their plans. Shakuru plans to destroy all of humanity by destroying a variety of continents with the Eden Engines before terraforming them back to habitable landmasses and rebuilding civilisation from there.
In May 2022, North discovers the location of an Eden Engine by hacking into an Abstergo server and uncovering the plan for Leah Chavez and Sigma Team to retrieve one in Cuba. Now recuperated, North takes Shakuru and the other Isu with him to Cuba in order to retrieve the Eden Engine for themselves. However, they find that the Templars have come into conflict with the Assassins who are also searching for it.
Shakuru and North encounter Horatio Pierce and Leah Chavez, engaging the both seperately. However, Shakuru is injured by Pierce forcing North to call a retreat and take Shakuru to safety. Horatio, Meaghan Allard and Hayley Yasutake are able to retrieve the Eden Engine and flee.
Recovering the Eden Engines[]
Upon returning to their hideout, North tends to Shakuru's injury at the hands of Pierce. Shakuru expresses her rage at Horatio and the humans calling them unruly and barbaric for daring to go against their masters. Following her rant, she demands that North kill Horatio should they encounter him once again which North agrees to. North then reveals to Shakuru that he may have encountered the Eden Engines in one of his prior lives, explaining that once he bore witness to the Eden Engine with his own eyes, it triggered a memory from the past, from his life as Stéphane D’aureville.
Recalling D'aureville's memories, North discovers that during his ancestor's lifetime he amassed a treasury of Isu artifacts and technology in hopes of opening the Conservatory and North proposes that they locate the hidden stash and use it in their inevitable re-encounter with the Assassins and Templars. As well as this, North further sifts through his past life's memories, trying to find a hint of where the Eden Engine is located now.
North manages to do so, accessing D'aureville's memory from when he was in the Isu temple at Pachena Bay when he was bombarded with the energy from the Eden Engines being separated. D'aureville witnessed the Eden Engine's past, present and future all at once, including the whereabouts of the three Eden Engines by 2022. North took Shakuru and the others to Ontario, to where the Cree warrior Küpeyakwüskonam buried the Eden Engine he had recovered.
Following this, Shakuru and the others located D'aureville's stash and recovered the Pieces of Eden there before making their way to France to recover the second Eden Engine.
Death[]
Shakuru and North successfully recover the second and prepare to leave but, North's unique Eagle Vision allows him to sense the oncoming presence of the Assassins and Templars. North orders the others to hide and remain hidden until his signal, believing that this was the perfect opportunity to end Pierce, Yasutake and Berg.
When they arrive, Shakuru and engage in a brief conversation with the Assassins and Templars revealing to them that he was able to locate the other two through D'aureville's memories. Shakuru then activates the Apple of Eden which she uses on the Assassins in an effort to make them kill themselves, however, due to Horatio's high concentration of Isu genes, he is able to resist its effects. Picking up a pistol from one of the dead Sigma Team members, he shoots at Shakuru but a Ring of Eden she is carrying prevents her from being shot, however, it was enough to break her concentration on the Apple. The others are broken from their compelling and are attacked by the Assassins and Templars.
During the skirmish, Horatio and Leah were able to remove an Eden Engine from North and Jason and Erica are able to recover it, fleeing toward Dupleix. North and Shakuru give chase. North and Shakuru corner Hart and Boyd at the subway station, he uses the Apple of Eden to force them to hand over the Eden Engine which they initially refused. Once they do Shakuru takes both Eden Engines and begins to fuse them together. Erica tells her that without the third, she will be unable to fully utilise the power of the Eden Engines. Shakuru agrees but states that once the fusion process is complete, she and North will be able to decimate humanity - it will only take a little longer.
Pierce, Yasutake and Hart arrive and resume their fight against the reborn Isu and his lover. Yasutake and Chavez manage to disarm both North and Shakuru of their Apples, and Hart and Boyd are able to kick them away, keeping them out of the Isu's grasp.
During this fight, the Eden Engine inches closer and closer to merging - Erica theorises that the energy generated from the complete union of the two Eden Engines was enough to completely wipe out France. North elects to stay behind to ensure that the Eden Engines unification is successful, hesitant at first Shakuru agrees and promises him that his sacrifice will not be in vain before quickly knocking down Hayley before preparing to flee. However, she is stopped by Leah with the Templar slicing at her throat with a knife, Shakuru drops to the floor, gargling on her own blood before dying. With Shakuru's death, the Isu truly went extinct.
